Yeah, I know it's a Canon thing.
I'm afraid for how much repair would cost, though. I'm broke, and the warranty limit ended a few months ago. D: I also heard some stories from people who had the same problem that after they went to have it fixed, it would still come back or something. >< GAH.

Yeah, I've been told it comes back.
But I think I remember Regine (David) telling me that Canon fixed it for free cause it's a widespread problem with their lenses? Best you check first how much else, change brands

Really, for free? Hrmmmmm. Well, I'm planning to go to a nearby Canon to ask about it and maybe go have it checked out. If it doesn't cost me a thing then yay! But if it's going to be a tad expensive, then maybe I should resort to getting a new 50.

Changing brands is such a hassle. XD I already have a Canon body, sayang naman if I switch just to avoid Err99, haha!
